Pressing DTF Transfers on Cotton & Cotton Blends

For clean, durable results on cotton and cotton-blend garments, follow the steps below. Proper heat and pressure ensure your designs look great and last wash after wash.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Pre-Press

  • Temp: 315°F

  • Time: 10 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium

  • Purpose: Removes moisture and flattens fibers for a smooth surface.

2. First Press (Apply Transfer)

  • Temp: 315°F

  • Time: 12–15 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium to firm

  • Use a quality heat press. Irons are not recommended.

3. Cool Down

  • Let the garment cool completely before peeling the film (cold peel)

4. Final Press (Seal Press)

  • Temp: 315°F

  • Time: 12–15 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium

  • Use parchment paper or a finishing sheet over the transfer.

  • Always test new garments first.

  • Avoid seams or collars — press on flat areas.

  • Use a pressing pillow when needed for hoodies or seams.
