General

Why ArmyTransfers?

ArmyTransfers is built for production, not experimentation.

We print in-house using calibrated settings, controlled curing, and real press testing. Every order follows a documented quality control process before it ships. No outsourcing. No shortcuts.

What makes ArmyTransfers different?

Process and discipline.

  • Artwork reviewed before production begins
  • Test prints on new or unverified files before bulk production starts
  • Calibrated ink, white, and adhesive settings maintained across runs
  • Press-tested for real-world performance

Orders go through the website. No manual back-and-forth. No quoting by email.

How long does production take?

Production time depends on file readiness, order volume, and whether a test print is required.

Production begins after artwork approval. Production-ready files move faster through the queue. New or unverified artwork may require a test print before bulk production starts, which can extend turnaround on initial orders.

Estimated turnaround is communicated at checkout.

Will the transfer hold after washing?

DTF transfers are designed for repeat wear and wash when pressed correctly.

Durability depends on proper heat, correct pressure, accurate dwell time, and garment compatibility. Follow the pressing instructions for your fabric type. Wash garments inside out on cold and avoid high-heat drying to extend print life.

Do I need an account to order?

No. You can place an order as a guest. Creating an account lets you access order history and track repeat orders more easily.

How long can I store unpressed transfers?

When stored correctly, unpressed transfers maintain performance over time.

Storage guidelines:

  • Cool, dry environment
  • Flat storage, not rolled or folded under weight
  • Away from heat, humidity, and direct light

Always test a transfer before pressing a full run if the batch has been stored for an extended period.

Artwork

Does ArmyTransfers provide art templates?

We provide size guidance, not design templates. Artwork should be submitted at final print size with proper resolution and a transparent background.

For gang sheets, layout and spacing are the customer's responsibility. For detailed file requirements, see the Art Specifications page.

What transfer sizes are available?

Single transfers are ordered by size selection. Available sizes are listed on the Single DTF Transfers product page.

Gang sheets range from 22x24 to 22x300. Size determines how much design area you have on one sheet.

What file format should I submit?

Submit files as PNG with a transparent background. Files must be high resolution at 300 DPI at final print size, with clean edges and no white or solid fill background.

Low-resolution or improperly prepared files will be flagged during review. See Art Specifications for full requirements.

What color mode should my file be in?

Submit artwork in RGB color mode. DTF printers operate in RGB. Files submitted in CMYK may produce color shifts.

ArmyTransfers does not guarantee exact color matching across all fabrics and press conditions. Color output reflects our calibrated production settings applied to your specific pressing environment.

What if I am not sure my file is production-ready?

Submit the file. All artwork is reviewed before production begins.

If issues are found that could affect print quality, we will contact you before proceeding. New or unverified artwork may require a test print before bulk production starts. Production-ready files move faster through the queue.

Does ArmyTransfers provide art proofs?

We do not provide design proofs by default. Your uploaded file is printed as submitted once approved for production.

Test prints may be used internally to verify print behavior before bulk runs. They are not sent as visual proofs for customer approval.

Shipping

What shipping options are available?

Shipping options are selected at checkout. Available methods depend on order size, destination, and carrier availability.

Production time and shipping time are separate. Shipping begins after production is complete and the order passes final inspection.

Do you ship internationally?

We primarily serve customers in the United States. Contact us before placing an international order to confirm availability and any applicable restrictions.

I am outside California. What are my shipping options?

We ship nationwide. Shipping options and estimated transit times are calculated at checkout based on your location.

Production must complete before shipping begins. Transit time varies by carrier and service level selected.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Yes. Local pickup is available in Gilroy and the San Jose, CA area.

Pickup is scheduled after your order is complete. Orders are released only after passing final inspection. This is a fulfillment option, not a walk-in service.

Pressing

Are ArmyTransfers hot peel or cold peel?

Hot peel. Remove the film immediately after pressing while the transfer is still hot. Delaying the peel can affect edge release and surface finish.

See the Pressing Instructions page for full guidance by fabric type.

What press settings should I use?

Recommended settings:

  • Temperature: 300 to 320°F
  • Dwell time: 10 to 15 seconds
  • Pressure: Medium to firm
  • Peel: Hot immediately after pressing

A finish press over parchment paper for 5 to 10 seconds is recommended after peeling. Settings vary by fabric. See the Pressing Instructions page for fabric-specific guides.

My transfer is not adhering. What should I check?

Most adhesion issues trace back to one of the following:

  • Temperature too low
  • Pressure too light
  • Dwell time too short
  • Fabric had moisture, coating, or wrinkles
  • Film was peeled cold instead of hot

Check each variable before concluding there is a transfer defect. If the issue persists, contact support with your press temperature, dwell time, pressure, garment type, and photos.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

Orders are placed through the website. Select your product, upload production-ready artwork, choose your size or sheet dimensions, and complete checkout. Orders enter production after artwork review and approval.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on product type, size, and quantity. Single transfers are priced by size. Gang sheets are priced by sheet dimensions. There are no color count or ink coverage fees.

How can I evaluate quality before ordering at volume?

The DTF Sample Pack contains real production transfers produced using live settings. Use it to evaluate print quality, peel behavior, adhesion, and color output on your own press and garments before committing to a larger order.

Are there any additional fees?

Possible additional costs include shipping and applicable taxes. There are no hidden color or ink fees and no setup fees on standard orders.

What should I confirm before placing an order?

  • Artwork is final and production-ready
  • Files are sized correctly at final print dimensions
  • Backgrounds are transparent
  • You have reviewed the Art Specifications page

Production begins after artwork approval. Files that require revision will delay your order.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No minimum order on single transfers. You can order one transfer at one size. Gang sheets start at the 22x24 sheet size.

Does ArmyTransfers charge by the color?

No. Pricing is not affected by the number of colors in your artwork. Full-color and single-color artwork are priced the same by product type and size.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment is collected at checkout. Accepted methods are displayed during the checkout process. Orders do not enter production until payment is completed.

What if there is a problem with my order?

Contact support with your order number and a clear description of the issue. Include photos if related to print quality or physical condition.

Contact us at the contact page or by phone at (408) 658-6107.

I only need one design. What should I order?

Order a single transfer. Single transfers are available at any size with no minimum. They are the right choice for one-off orders, replacement prints, and small-batch runs.

If you have three or more designs to press, a gang sheet reduces your cost per print.
